v     Aim:-

learning how to do poultry management and egg production.

v     Requirement :-

v     Information of layer farming :-

Poultry egg and meat are important sources of high quality proteins minerals and vitamins to balance human diet Commercial layer strains are now available with traits of egg production and high feed conversion efficiency.

v     Highlight point of layer farming:-

Poultry is one of the fastest growing segment of the agricultural sector in india today. India has emerged on the world map as the 3rd largest egg producer.(56 billion egg) and annual growth rate in egg production approximated 6% per year. The current strength of layers in india is estimated to be 230 million and the annual per capital availability of egg has increased from 7 egg in 1961 to 52 egg in 2010

Farmer in india have moved from rearing non descriptive bird to rearing hybirid which ensures faster growth good livability excellent feed conversion high egg production and profits to the rears high quality chiks equipment vaccines and medicine are now available through public and private players.

v     Procedure :-

1)                      Cage details:-We do pinjra paddhat poultry farming we purchased cage their size is 10 ft length 6ft breadth and 6ft height. in cage 24 compartments are available one compartments size is 1.5ft*2ft feeder pipe is available in cage and watering system is fixed in this cage.

2)                      We put five hens in one compartments total we have 24 compartments and total hens in ther cage is 120 birds

3)                      Feeding system:- There is an open cut pipe for the feeder system. the feed is put in the pipe.

4)                      Watering system:- The is a tank available for water pipe there is automatic ball cock for water tank. Every compartments has a small push valve for the chickens to drink water.

5)                      Egg collecting system:- The cage have a tilted flooring for the eggs to roll out and at the end they have a semi round net to stop the egg from falling. then we collect the eggs from the half open chamber and put in the trays.

6)                      cleanliness:-

Their feces is  cleaned every week. the floor is cleaned every day and water is sprayed mixed with phenyl.

v     Benefits:-

Less area more egg production.

Easy to care.

v     Problems:-

Temperature maintenance.

egg count, size fluctuation.

Lots of diseases.

Water heating due to sun.

v     Solutions:-

We hanged gunny bag over the sides of poultry and made a drip system over it to make it wet.

We made mineral mixture gave calcium supplements to them.

We gave vaccines for diseases.

We covered the tank with gunny bags and soaked it in water.

v     Observation:-

After giving mineral mixture the hen started giving more eggs.

The water started to get cooler after putting gunny bags on the tank.

Poultry farming is good for business.

v     Conclusion:-

We learnt how to do poultry farming and business.
